And the show goes on....

Khaleej Times: Ajman disconnects power supply to bachelors’ flats in residential areas

"Power was disconnected at labourers and bachelors’ accommodations in Al Bustan, Al Zahra, and Al Nuaimiya areas by the Ajman Municipality to force them to move to the Industrial Area. Due to complaints by the public and a report published in your favourite No.1 newspaper Khaleej Times on December 29, 2005, about the disturbance and insecurity caused by the labourers in residential areas, the municipality has decided to move them to industrial areas"

Yes! Another instance of discrimination.

As per Khaleej Times, these labourers have been living in a "residential" area. And since they are bachelors they have been causing trouble in the neighbourhood. Damn evildoers, the lot of them, I tell ya.

Residents have complained about the "insecurity" (KT needs to go and enroll in some English classes) and disturbances in the area. (There are a few guys in our vicinity who hang around and smoke ciggies to late in the night. Residents - mainly some western and arab women - complain that they feel uncomfortable with them around. Thats it. Yep. Thats it. They were uncomfortable. The guys didn't do anything but hang out. So the cops now have stopped them from their nightly ciggie-filled mischief.).

So now these miscreants in Ajman are being made to move to a labour camp, whose owners have promptly doubled the rent (gotta love opportunists who feed on misery). So these people now have nowhere to go and have stuck on in the same place.

Of course this has angered the powers that be who have gone ahead and shut off the power. This is always a good move if you want to make a point to those miserable lowlife labourers.

What we have here once again is a second round knockout of rights and equality.

Here is what really gets to me about this:

Why the hell does it mean that if you are a bachelor you are automatically scum and people assume you are a perv?

How can the actions of a few bachelors be attributed on their entire community and the whole community is made to pay the price (I mean isn't this what a lot of the people here are fighting agains't - the actions of a few terrorists being blamed on the whole population)?

What happened to atleast a warning or action against the ones who are causing the disturbances?

Where is the law? Aren't you innocent until guilty (in this case of disturbance)? - In fact they don't even have proof of these disturbances. An official even goes onto say - “some Asian workers are allegedly causing public disturbance and indulging in ‘unethical’ behaviour that is not accepted in our conservative society.”

And worst of all..... Khaleej Times' pride in the fact that they reported this - "Due to complaints by the public and a report published in your favourite No.1 newspaper Khaleej Times on December 29, 2005, about the disturbance and insecurity caused by the labourers in residential areas, the municipality has decided to move them to industrial areas." - almost like they are incredibly happy about the fact that they have made an already tough life, even worse for our boys in blue.

You are supposed to be fighting for justice and equality KT, not destroying their lives. You miserable cretins.

Nuthin' But A G Thang

Gulf News:

http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles/06/05/25/10042397.html

A few days ago, Gulf News reported that a group of School Students attacked random shoppers and shopkeepers in the Karama area.

This report was followed up by the above one where a security camera in a shop recorded their attack on a shopkeeper.

The clothes worn by these students is a dead giveaway as to which group they belong to.

And no prizes for guessing who were the victims of the attack.

Once again we see the evil that pervades Dubai Society.

After some research into this (basically I asked a few people who lived there), another fact jumps out at you - This is not the first time such an incident has happened. In fact this is a regular occurance.

Such beatings happen on a bi yearly basis - generally at the end of the exams. The theory goes that these gangs of youths beat people as way to prove their "manhood" and as a rite of passage. This beating of helpless subcons (who are too scared to even defend themselves) defines you as a "G" ready to live the "thug life" and "keep it real" on da mean streets of K-Town.

One has to only read the report and ask around and you notice that all victims are subcons.

So now, these subcons are not only under/unpaid, looked down upon, they recieve random beatings as well.

I can't wait when these students are finally caught and sentenced. You know somebody (either an official or parent) is going to blame it totally on the evil west with their evil T.V/music/video games/women/drugs/freedom etc etc etc.

WHAT A WONDERFUL COUNTRY

What you looking at????

A recent article in 7 days:

http://www.7days.ae/2006/05/25/two-guilty-of-nightclub-murder.html

To summarise:

A few months ago there was an incident where a couple of local lads killed a fellow clubber 'cos he was looking at them "wrong" (7days does not provide the full details of the story - but a search through Gulf News or KT should reveal it).

There has been a verdict in this case.

1 of the lads has been sentenced to 5 years and the second to 1.

HUH?????????????????????

Lets look at that one more time:

5 years for the murderer, 1 year for the accomplice/accessory.

Lets put it into perspective - you get 6 years for a bounced cheque..... Sedition and apostacy are much much more harsh.

Basically it is a much better idea to kill the man you owe money to rather than give him a dud cheque.

Ah if it was only so easy.......

Now lets see what happens if we play around with the colour settings and increase the level of Red and Blue and Yellow and arrive at a nice shade of Brown.

Gulf News:
Indian labourer gets 15yrs for premeditated murder.
2 get 25 years for strangling woman
2 Bangladeshis get 13 year for murder.

But I guess I should stop complaining and be grateful to our hosts for allowing me to live in this splendour or leave.........

Enough Already

A story that just keeps refusing to die is the one about Gabriella Matar.

For those who don't know: Gabriella Matar was a 14 yr old girl who went out on a quad bike with her friend in meadows. Unfortunately they got into an accident where Gabriella was mortally wounded and passed away.

Now, you would think this sad story would have been laid to rest. And as a social cause, the relatives would be trying to educate the public about the dangers of quad bikes and importance of safety.

That would seem like the reasonable and noble thing to do but instead we have a mother who seems to have focused all her energies on trying to find someone to blame. 7 Days

The mother of Gabriella seems determined to blame this accident on anything and anybody from the father of the driver, to the driver, to the quad bike manufacturer. To top this, she is now attempting to file a case against the security guards for not stopping the quad bike driver.

How in the name of hell, is a security guard going to stop some kids from driving quads. So I guess some poor, underpaid, overworked, disrespected subcontinental security guard is also responsible for your parenting mistakes.

It doesn't stop there. Our candidate for mom of the year, is also trying to file a case against the boy's father (for buying him the quad and failing to supervise his kid).

HOLD ON. The father of the boy is being sued for failing to supervise his kid.... Shouldn't you be supervising your kid as well, ma'am.

And finally, there is also indication that she is planning a civil case for damages..... aaaaah, so thats what this is all about.

Just a word of advice ma'am. YOU are responsible for your kids well being. No one forced her to sit on the quad. YOU should have instilled safety procedures into your kid. NO ONE else is responsible, not the driver, not the father of the driver, not the quad bike company, not the security guards, not the lamp post, not the road makers, and not the petrol company. STOP passing the blame.

Shame on you ma'am, shame on you.

TURN IT OFF

Our number 1 favorite, most loved toiletpaper (known to all as Khaleej Times) has reported that officials in Fujairah have called for confronting "indecent" T.V Channels.

Apparently these T.V Channels are corrupting the tender children, youth and water supply, with their filth.

And to top this, "the T.V Channels have stopped rendering service by not enlightening people on various issues". (so I guess when there was no T.V 25 years ago, people were dumb as a rock).

WELL, here is a suggestion. If you don't agree with the content of the T.V Channel, switch it off.
Its simple - there is a power button on any remote control (or T.V). Just press that and voila - no more indecent channel. Or you could also change the channel (by pressing either up or down buttons).

Now, that wasn't so hard was it.
