Despair

Had to leave town on a bit of an emergency.

Unfortunately, am back now. With Gitex looming around the corner, I can look forward to some long nights.

The traffic has gotten worse, with last evening’s trip from Work to Home (a 30Km drive) taking a homicide inducing 2 hours. At one point I actually got out of the car (while it was in the middle of the road), walked over to a café nearby, bought a sandwich and came back to find that nothing had moved.

We seem to have had the same mindless drivel being spouted in the newspapers, with KT leading the assault on common sense.

The Pope spoke his mind and pissed off a bunch of people, who then went onto do exactly what the Pope had inferred.

This just blows my mind. We have the Pope in one corner making some remarks linking Islam and violence, which angers a bunch of muslims who then proceed to get violent.

Seriously, if there ever was a time to prove to the world that Islam does not encourage violence, then this is it. Instead what we have is some of these people burning down churches and have gone as far as killing a nun (words fail me here).

Thanks for proving the Pope right, guys.

On a related note: notice how whenever there was a terrorist attack, we had a lot of the middle eastern leaders calling for the western population not to retaliate against the average “peace loving” muslim. But , they seem to be very content in retaliating against totally unrelated Christians. One rule for them and another for the west.

If we were to take this same logic and apply it to the WTC and London bombings, how many muslims should have been killed in the west????

Onto more idiocy:

I don’t understand how anyone can support Iran’s attempts to get a nuclear weapon. We are talking about Iran here people. You know, the country which loves to oppress its own people. Where hanging and stoning women is common. Where your rights are not respected. We are talking about the same country right????
What makes you think that Iran will treat its neighbours well, if it gets nuclear weapons?

You do realize that a bunch of nutcases run the gov’t in Iran, right???

Even more idiocy:

Etisalat….. (I don’t think anything else needs to be said)

And Finally…

My quest for a cheaper accommodations, led me into the office of a realty agent who let me in on some developments – 99% of the projects which are being advertised as sold out, are in fact struggling to find investors. Less than 15% have been bought up. The rest are being offered (on the down-low) to realty agents at a 10% discount over the market rate. And even this is not finding many takers.

She also very nicely advised me that a good idea would be to contact the new buildings and make an offer to them. A lot of them are willing to drop prices. But the contract will be signed at the advertised amount.

Now back to the banging my head against the wall as I watch humankind attempt to destroy itself.

p.s: two videos that I would recommend:

Obsession

An inconvenient truth

and if you are too cheap to buy it:

And...again, I'm so glad I don't drive.

Heh...as genuine as sealing the deal with a handshake.

I'm looking for cheaper accomodation myself. I want to kick my parents in the arse for moving out of our super cheap apartment a few years ago to a larger, pricier one.
Despite my protests.

Now our apartment is too expensive to breathe in.

Oh well.

Hey Man, finally you're back, for a moment I thought you had disappeared in the woods and lost your way back home.

It's nice to be back and see everything's the same, isn't it?

Anyways, welcome back!

As for the property, if you a get a good price, grab it and then sell it off for a bundle when the time's right. How's that?

Be cool :D

Spammy,

One of the by products of a nuclear plant is weapons grade uranium..... And guess what Spammy. Once you have a nuclear plant you are only a couple of steps away from a nuclear weapon. And why would a country with huge oil reserves need a nuclear plant??

The real agenda behind the nuclear plant is to get the bomb.

If they are allowed to have the plant then you can bet within two years they will have a weapon aimed at Israel and other countries.

""And why would a country with huge oil reserves need a nuclear plant??""

This is sooo GWbushish. Its like saying Mr.gates, u have a lot of money now close down MS and take rest.

Iran being so rich in oil is still not a rich counrty ...mebbe they can use the extra money somewhere else...and oil is not going to last for ever... one could argue this say..

but considering the brainwash (forceful if i may add) the USfA has done to this world ...one tends to assume it wants to develop a weapon...

But I hope it does develop a weapon as soon as possible.... ONLY POWER YIELDS RESPECT...

Spammy,

You are blinded by your hate of the U.S.

When the real criminals and liars are gov'ts like Iran.

You comparison to Bill Gates is irrelevant.

Do you know why Iran is poor?? Their gov't restrict free trade. They are corrupt (I know, I engage in business there).

This is not about respect. This is about giving nuclear weapons to a bully who is crazy enough to try and destroy countries.

Iran is a supporter of terrorsism. So why would you want to give them a bomb that can destroy the world??

its not iran who is breeding terrorists...its US...just last month they gave birth to an entire generation of terrorits...

they have been doing this for decades now...

you humiliate someone and not expect them to do anything...sorry my dear friend ..not in todays world..

no body gets the point..and u r no exception..

man...i dont understand why will iran want to attack anyone unless provoked...i do not see a single incident when it has happened before....

atleast GWbush will think twice b4 attacking nuclear iran...and iran can be saved from being next iraq..

Iran has always bred terrorists.

They have funded terrorist organisations for the past 20 years. The reason is simple - to spread their brand of islam and gain power all over the world.

With a nuclear weapon they can do what they want and not fear any consequences.

Iran has never attacked anyone without provocation - but have supported terrorist organisations that have done the attacking for them

The only proof that Iran, the world's fourth largest energy exporter, is pursuing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is the mere fact that this is what they tell us. But the Mullahs of Iran also spent 18 years blatantly lying to the world about the very existence of their nuclear program - and they still refuse to allow inspections of their enrichment facilities for reasons that aren't that hard to guess.

The government also lies continuously about its sponsorship of Islamic terror, which includes the virtual creation of Hezbollah. The Islamic republic is even led by a man who can't muster enough integrity to admit his role in the 1979 hostage crisis - despite photographs and eyewitnesses.

What credibility does Iran have left? How stupid do we have to be to believe that a country sitting on over 100 billion barrels of oil reserve and 940 trillion cubic feet of natural gas truly has energy needs?

Don't be a spoil sport, Iran requires these nukes (oops energy) for then, you know when they run out of their reserves.

Their President's complicity in the 79 hostage crisis? He's excused because he's a mullah.

Hezbollah, they just declared victory over their conflict with Israel so they deserve some respect until they get their ass kicked to smithereens soon.

Retards.

like?? if u say hezbollah..then i must disagree since it was formed to drive out the israelis..lest lebanon would have been like palestine now... agreed that hezbolla has gone overboard since then..but then u should understand the chain of events..

//The reason is simple - to spread their brand of islam and gain power all over the world.

this must be joke of the century..or u must be blind...who (US) is spreading what (war on terror/democracy on their own terms) is known to everybody..but then the whole world these days seems to be hypocritic

//With a nuclear weapon they can do what they want and not fear any consequences.

they will defend themselves against agression...and u know whose agression

US has always supported terrorism... unfortunately with all its power and influence..it all comes masked with legitimacy/democracy(my foot)to promote its own interests...research for all the wars/confrontations happened in the past 30 years..and there is entity common in these wars...the USfA

u r too retard/american/british/western media bred..for me to waste my time replying to you

//Anonymous places some valid points in front of you and you turn to name calling.

I hope anonymous is not ur alter ego..lol anyways…frankly i found his facts very biased and presented to his own convenience…believe me I can present the same facts in a way that is convenient to me…so no point in discussing

//And you think the Arab media is not biased?? The arab media loves to call for the death of US, the jews and all people who don't support them.

Obviously arab media is biased…and why shoudnt they be…that’s why I follow a number of news agencies…and form my own opinion….and as far as arab media calling for the death of US/Israel… such statements made if any were in retaliation to US/Israel making similar statements…but then since in every other statement western media stresses “iran called for destruction of Israel” …mortals like u and me tend to form opinions based on what we hear and see

//The arab world is ful of hypocrisy. They oppress their own people and blame it on the west. They treat other religions like shit and then claim that their's is not respected.

Agreed …arab world is hypocritic (btw who is not?)….but that doesn’t give the west the right to bomb/threaten the middle east to further their own interests and more importantly it does not give the right to people like you to support the west blindly…..coming to oppression…..remember one thing buddy…nobody like to be oppressed by a foreign power…people would rather be killed by their own people than being occupied by a foreign power..

//Spammy, I recommend that you read the facts and stop letting your hatred or Israel get in the way. You admit that Hezbollah have gone overboard. Well, in that case what is to stop Iran from going overboard when they get a nuclear missile.

I have no relation (culturally, religiously, historically, what ever) with either arabs or muslims or jews or the west... But I feel very strongly about the US policies and all the shit that we are discussing is an offshoot of that…
Dudeeeeeeeeeeee….u talk about Hezbollah who has hardly done any damage to others ….and iran who has so far hurt no one more than itself …..when do u people open eyes and see the damage that’s being done by some reckless nations….i mean we are taking of nations being occupied (for wealth, power) here…

//And come on Spammy. Just go to Iran and ask the people there. Most of them are sick of the tyrants that rule them.

Yah..u speak as if u must be knowing better than the Iranians themselves…..iam sure they are in safe hands ..if only the world leaves them alone ……and last heard iran was a constitutional democracy (dont speak of ayotollah now…he is as powerful/weak as president of India is)…when did it become a tyranny?....i can understand where it comes from…cuz that’s what u hear ..

Every body agrees that the human rights situation is worst in saudi and most terrorist named by US are from Saudi…why doesn’t US do anything about saudi…because they got what they want and let the Saudis go to hell….but it is not the situation with iran…Iranians have self respect…and their leaders do not want to endorse modern slavery…and so do their people…

people are seldom happy with their governments…does that mean that a foreign power come and dictate it own terms?

//And the fact remains that the Iranian president is a terrorist and the proof is available for all to see. Its just that your hate blinds you to the fact that the west can be right at times as well.

U always talk of proof and never mention one (?)…..so what if Iranian president was involved in hostage taking…..did u ever get to know the chain of events that led to these….if u say he was a terrorist then what about GWbush ..whose policies of world domination u seem to admire very much…. How is he different from any of the tyrants that history has seen…

irans predident is as much a terrorist as any freedom fighter..

I do travel to Iran a lot so I think I do know what I am talking about with regards to Iran. Iranian human rights are as bad as Saudi. They tend to lead the world in stonings. They have executed thousands of people who just wanted reform. What is this self respect you talk about?? Looks like you been watching IRIB a lot.

I never said I liked or supported Bush. He is just the lesser of two evils. The big difference between Bush and the Middle East - Bush won't have me killed for criticising him...

And what freedom is the Iranian president fighting for?? who occupies his country?? no one. The country has isolated itself with its hate-west policy.

2- Hmmm, talk to the average iranian for insight.

yes you are being naive.

This is Iran we are talking about people.

Yes Bush is a wanker and he did wrong.

But who is funding the terrorists who have killed most of those 650000 people???

Who supports those groups that believe that their way is the right way and non-believers need to be killed?

Its countries like Iran and KSA.

Do you seriously think they won't make a nuclear bomb???? Are you that stupid?????
